There are men would pay good money not to go shopping, but 'mystery shoppers' get paid instead.

The job of a mystery shopper is to go in to shops, restaurants, bars or even stay in a hotel, and report on how the customer is being treated. You'll get all the money for your meals, drinks or bills repaid and you may get to keep the shopping, too - unless, of course, it's diamonds. You'll also be paid for the valuable feedback.

Don't think this is going to be a walk in the park however. You have to go to shops, usually to buy, although possibly also to return or complain about an item. You have to hide the fact that you are a mystery shopper from the staff, and when you're done you have to submit a report back to the company detailing how you were treated.

Good for: People who enjoy shopping.
Average pay: from £6 a visit, but could be as much as £100 a day.
